Ryan Romo - Assistant coach

My name is Ryan Romo. I am 22 years old and from Phoenix, Arizona. I started training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) at the age 19 when a friend of mine urged me to try it out after he saw my fascination with martial arts. I became hooked instantly! Right now I compete as a purple belt under Javier Torres in local competitions. I feel Jiujitsu is really for everyone. It's fantastic because there are so many things that you can do with it. You can train for competition or self defense. It's addictive because you see gradual improvement each time you compete or roll with someone new and learn something fresh which makes your game even stronger! Right now, I have the privilege of assisting in many classes and teaching kids the art of jujitsu and seeing them improve right before my eyes. It really shows that all ages can practice this amazing art!
